Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a telecommunications or related technical program is preferred.
- Relevant experience in OSP installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Knowledge of OSP construction practices and standards.
- Familiarity with OSP tools and equipment, such as fiber splicers, cable testers, and excavation tools.
- Ability to read and interpret OSP drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and can drive a 4-wheel vehicle.
- Installing, splicing, and terminating fiber optic and copper cables in OSP environments.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on OSP infrastructure, including aerial and underground cables, poles, and conduit.
- Conducting site surveys and assessments to plan OSP installations and upgrades.
- Collaborating with engineers and other technicians to design OSP networks and solutions.
- Testing and troubleshooting OSP infrastructure to identify and resolve issues.
- Adhering to safety regulations and company policies when working in OSP environments.
- Keeping accurate records of all OSP installations, maintenance, and repair work performed.
