Senior Full-Stack Developer (Next.js / Xano)

Our architecture operates on:
- Frontend: React / Next.js, hosted on Vercel.
- Backend & Database: Xano (PostgreSQL).
- Core Integrations: Google APIs (Maps/Places for location and timezone logic) and the Xero API (financial syncing).
The Role
We are not looking for someone to build from scratch. We need a Senior Architect to step into an existing, functioning codebase to tighten, secure, and optimize the architecture before we scale.
This role is split into two distinct phases:
Phase 1: The Optimization Sprint (In-Person, Manila)
You will work directly in the room with the Founder in our Manila office for the initial phase. Your mandate is to:
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current Next.js frontend and Xano backend.
- Refactor and "tighten" existing code for speed, security, and scalability.
- Ensure all API endpoints (especially Google and Xero) are highly efficient, properly cached, and securely handling data.
- Standardize the database logic and function stacks within Xano to ensure a bulletproof foundation.
Phase 2: Retainer & Future Sprints (Remote/Hybrid)
Following the successful optimization of the current build, the role transitions to an ongoing retainer model.
- Provide regular, secure maintenance of the Protée OS platform.
- Lead new development sprints to build additional products, features, and external integrations as the roadmap dictates.
Required Technical Expertise
- Next.js / React: Senior-level proficiency. You must know how to optimize state management, component rendering, and secure client-side vs. server-side API calls within Vercel environments.
- Xano (PostgreSQL): Deep, demonstrable expertise. You must understand advanced Xano function stacks, complex data structures, caching loops, and external API payload management.
- API Integrations: Proven experience securely managing OAuth, complex payloads, and rate limits with enterprise APIs (specifically Xero and Google Maps/Places).
- Mindset: Logic-driven. We prioritize verified logic over "guesstimates." You must be able to look at functioning code and make it tighter, faster, and more secure instantly.
Requirements
- Must be able to work physically in the Manila office for Phase 1.
- Must be available to transition into a long-term, reliable retainer for ongoing maintenance and future sprint development.
