Position Overview:

We're building a pool of reliable, detail-oriented Accountants who can handle day-to-day accounting functions remotely for US-based companies. The most active industries hiring for this role include finance/accounting firms, home services, real estate, property management, and construction, but demand is cross-industry.

Depending on your experience level, you could be matched to Staff Accountant roles (executing core accounting tasks with some oversight) or Senior Accountant roles (owning the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision). The fundamentals are the same: accurate books, clean reconciliations, timely reporting, and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Manage accounts payable and/or accounts receivable workflows.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate records in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar).
• Support tax preparation, audit requests, and compliance documentation.
• Handle payroll processing or coordination when needed.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in an accounting role (staff accountant, general accountant, or senior accountant).
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Proficient with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop), Xero, or NetSuite.
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Strong written and verbal English.
• Reliable internet and a quiet home office setup.
• Able to work US business hours.

Nice-to-Haves:

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with multi-entity or consolidated accounting.
• Background in real estate, property management, construction, or home services accounting.
• Familiarity with job costing or project-based accounting.
• Experience with Bill.com, Gusto, Sage, or other finance tools.
• Exposure to ERP systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
