Bartender

A bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in bars, restaurants, clubs, or other establishments. In addition to mixing drinks, bartenders are expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain the cleanliness of the bar area, and ensure that guests have a positive experience. Bartenders also need to handle cash, keep track of inventory, and adhere to legal and safety regulations regarding alcohol service.

• Drink Preparation: Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to standard recipes or custom orders. This may include cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, take orders, and provide recommendations on drinks based on customer preferences. Ensure guests are satisfied with their drinks and overall experience.
• Cash Handling: Process payments for drinks, including cash, credit cards, and tabs, and provide change to customers. Maintain accurate cash register operations.
• Bar Maintenance: Keep the bar clean, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and restocking supplies like liquor, mixers, and garnishes. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of alcohol, mixers, glassware, and other bar supplies. Alert the management team when inventory needs to be replenished.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow safety and hygiene standards, including handling alcohol responsibly and ensuring guests do not consume excessive amounts. Enforce legal drinking age requirements and ensure the safe consumption of alcohol.

• Education: While formal education is not required, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Some bartenders attend bartending school or take courses in mixology to enhance their skills.
• Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, especially in a bar, restaurant, or similar environment, is highly beneficial. Some employers may offer on-the-job training for entry-level positions.
