- A cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions, handling payments, and providing excellent service. Duties include scanning items, issuing receipts, managing cash or card payments, and resolving customer inquiries. Cashiers also ensure the checkout area is clean and organized.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills:
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
- Experience: Prior retail or cashier experience is helpful but not required.
- Personal Traits: Friendly, reliable, and able to handle pressure in a busy environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and handle light to moderate lifting.
