Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

Job Description Position Title: Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor Reports To: Engineering Manager Job Overview The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing, and providing detailed reporting of all Electrical and Instrumentation activities within the plant. The role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of all E&I systems to support safe and continuous plant operations. Key Deliverables and Objectives

• Ensure all Electrical and Instrumentation devices are fully functional, properly maintained, and calibrated
• Ensure all E&I technicians are trained, competent, and qualified to perform assigned tasks
• Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation in compliance with IMS standards, including maintenance and troubleshooting guides
• Establish and maintain strong technical coordination and support with equipment vendors

Key Contacts Internal:

• Reports directly to the Engineering Manager
• Supervises Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians
• Coordinates with department heads across plant operations

External: • Coordinates with equipment vendors for instrumentation and control system requirements, troubleshooting, and technical support Main Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and assign personnel for daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of all plant electrical and instrumentation systems
• Review completed repair work and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards
• Monitor electrical energy consumption and recommend cost-reduction initiatives and system improvements
• Manage E&I maintenance operations and CAPEX budget allocation and utilization
• Ensure all works comply with company standards and applicable government electrical codes
• Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for new instrumentation and control installations and vendor coordination
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including updated P&ID diagrams, manuals, maintenance logs, and spare parts specifications

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Solid understanding of electrical components, including circuit breakers, fuses, wiring systems, and generator operations
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, ladder diagrams, solenoid valves, pneumatic systems, and process transmitters (level, temperature, pressure, flow)
• Ability to interpret ACAD drawings and strong computer literacy (MS Office and related applications)
• Basic PLC programming and instrumentation calibration knowledge
• Experience in electrical and instrumentation wiring, controls, commissioning, termination, and calibration

Familiarity with equipment brands:

• PLC: ABB, Siemens, Honeywell
• Control Valves: Samson, Flowserve
• Flowmeters (Magnetic/Vortex): Yokogawa, Emerson, Siemens
• Pressure Transmitters: Siemens, Emerson, Honeywell, ABB
• Temperature Transmitters: Baumer, Wika
• Rotameter: Eureka

Qualifications

• Graduate of Electrical Engineering or a related engineering course
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, specifically in Instrumentation and Controls
• Licensed Electrical Engineer
• Instrumentation certification is an advantage
