Fitness Sales/Membership Consultant Job Description

Membership Sales

• Generate new membership sales through walk-ins, referrals, online inquiries, corporate partnerships, and outbound prospecting. 
• Conduct professional gym tours for prospective members. 
• Explain membership plans, pricing, promotions, and gym policies.
• Recommend the most suitable membership package based on the client’s needs.
• Prepare membership agreements and ensure all required documents are completed accurately.
• Process membership enrollments and renewals.

Lead Generation 

• Respond promptly to inquiries received through phone calls, email, website, social media, and messaging platforms.
• Maintain and update a database of prospects.
• Follow up with leads until a sale is closed or the inquiry is no longer active.
• Conduct outbound calls and messages to generate new business.
• Participate in community events, corporate partnerships, and marketing activities to increase membership sales. 

Member Retention

• Build strong relationships with members.
• Follow up with new members after enrollment. 
• Contact inactive members and encourage them to return.
• Promote membership renewals and upgrades.
• Resolve membership concerns or coordinate with management for appropriate action.
• Maintain a high level of member satisfaction.

Customer Service

• Welcome guests and visitors professionally.
• Answer inquiries accurately and courteously.
• Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality of member information.
• Ensure every prospective and existing member receives excellent customer service.
• Work closely with the Personal Training department for smooth client onboarding.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Prepare sales reports.
• Maintain accurate membership records.
• Update CRM or membership management systems.
• File membership agreements and supporting documents.
• Monitor membership expiration dates.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly sales reports. 

Marketing Support

• Promote current gym promotions and events.
• Assist in creating social media content when assigned.
• Participate in marketing campaigns, fitness events, and open houses.
• Encourage satisfied members to provide testimonials and referrals. 

Operational Support

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and sales areas.
• Ensure brochures, promotional materials, and membership forms are readily available.
• Coordinate with Fitness Trainers regarding complimentary consultations and trial sessions. 
• Assist the Operations Manager with special projects and events. 

General Responsibilities

• Follow all Company policies, SOPs, and ethical standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and member information.
• Comply with workplace safety, data privacy, and applicable laws.
• Maintain punctuality, attendance, discipline, teamwork, professionalism, and proper workplace conduct at all times.
• Render shifting schedules, night shifts, weekends, and holiday duties when operationally necessary and in accordance with company policy and applicable labor laws.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and operational tasks related to gym operations as may be assigned by management from time to time.
