Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Research, or a related field, such as:
Bachelor of Arts in English, Literature, Creative Writing, or a related field
Bachelor of Arts in Philippine Studies, Filipino, or a related field
Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs and Sheets), including Track Changes and comments for editing and feedback
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style
Experience in copyediting, proofreading, or editorial work for books, journals, magazines, or educational materials
Understanding of the publishing process, from manuscript editing to layout, proofs, and final print or digital release
Knowledge of standard proofreading marks and the ability to review typeset pages and PDF proofs
Ability to create and follow style sheets to keep spelling, terminology, and formatting consistent across a manuscript
Experience working with authors, editors, and designers, and communicating edits clearly and respectfully
