ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our finance department. In this role, you will handle the day-to-day transactional bookkeeping, keep our financial records accurate, and assist with month-end closing processes. The ideal candidate is great with numbers, highly organized, and comfortable working with accounting software and spreadsheets.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process incoming vendor invoices, verify matching purchase orders, and prepare weekly or bi-weekly payment runs.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Prepare and send client invoices, log incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit cards), and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Data Entry & Maintenance: Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system and maintain digital filing systems for receipts, invoices, and bank statements.
- Reconciliations: Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for.
- Month-End Support: Gather documentation and prepare basic journal entries to help the team close the books on time.
- Administrative Support: Respond to internal and external billing inquiries and assist with basic clerical tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or any similar course
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or basic bookkeeping role is preferred. Fresh graduates may apply
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, basic formulas, and data formatting).
- Familiarity with accounting software is an advantage but not required
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion.
