Job Summary
The Sourcing Staff is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and coordinating with suppliers to obtain products, materials, and services that meet company requirements. The role involves supplier research, quotation requests, price negotiations, product sourcing, and ensuring timely procurement support for ongoing projects and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Sourcing & Development
- Search for and identify potential local and international suppliers.
- Build and maintain a reliable supplier database.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, lead time, and reliability.
- Develop alternative sources for critical products and materials.
Procurement Support
- Request and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Prepare price comparison and supplier evaluation reports.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding product specifications, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Assist in negotiating pricing, payment terms, and lead times.
Market Research
- Conduct market research to identify new products, technologies, and suppliers.
- Monitor industry trends, pricing movements, and supply chain developments.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with sales, operations, logistics, and project teams regarding sourcing requirements.
- Maintain accurate sourcing records, quotations, supplier catalogs, and procurement documents.
- Ensure supplier compliance with company requirements and project specifications.
Vendor Relationship Management
- Maintain good relationships with existing suppliers.
- Address supplier-related concerns and performance issues.
- Assist in supplier accreditation and evaluation processes.
