TONOMUS is looking for an IBS Head Architect, who possesses strategic thinking, which is essential in this role to design world class solutions. This role will be based in NEOM and will be reporting to directly to the RAN CTO. The candidate must possess level 3 IBWAVE certification, be seasoned in large capacity IBS deployments along with mandatory 5G experience in order to design and scale network products. The candidate is expected to be well-versed in current IBS solutions & innovative trends. An understanding of the implications of regulatory and industry requirements for Saudi Arabis is required, especially on spectrum & EMF requirements. Must be strong communicator to evangelize what they are doing and why.

The new technology leader needs to be a passionate and visionary technologist in the domain of Inbuilding Systems & Small Cells, who finds innovative ways and solutions to architect the communications infrastructure support the future of NEOM.

The successful candidate needs to be with solid credentials in strategy, design, and innovation and have an emerging technology vision and strong grasp of how technology can amplify the business. To implement strategies throughout NEOM's differentiated journey, business aptitude, strategic thinking and innovative abilities will be required. Deep domain expertise of Telecom Services covering: OSS, BSS, orchestration and automation is required. Working with agile methodologies will be essential.

The IBS Head Architect must have a mix of capabilities that will lend instant credibility across the team and provide the confidence to challenge existing assumptions and behaviors to achieve the desired outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing (hands-on) architectural leadership and direction in domain of Inbuilding Systems & Small Cells to the NEOM business through the technology team to ensure end to end integral design.
Responsible for the RF Acceptance, LLD & HLD, modelling, model tuning for allocated targets. Functions include strategic architecture and delivery of the required technology and solutions execute the Connect vision.
Playing a key technical leadership role in the NEOM Connect business and contributing to the overall technical business strategy.

DAS Planning:

DAS/DIS System Design: Designing and planning Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for various indoor (active and passive) and outdoor locations within the NEOM development, ensuring seamless wireless coverage and capacity for communication services.
Accurate documentation of DAS designs, installations, configurations, and performance metrics. Keeping records of changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
RF Testing and Troubleshooting Conduct thorough testing of DAS networks using RF testing equipment to ensure optimal signal quality, coverage, and minimal interference. Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise during testing.

Collaboration:

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project managers, construction teams, and external vendors, to ensure the successful implementation of DAS projects across different sectors of the NEOM development.
Collaborating with RF engineers, network architects, and other relevant SME teams to plan, optimize, and integrate DAS networks into NEOM's overall wireless communication infrastructure.

Solution Development and Delivery:

Serving as the technical expert representative across teams responsible for delivery of Telecom Services solutions.
Suggesting alternative network technical solutions to meet NEOM requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and / or longer life.
Formulating and reviewing specifications and policies for purchase of technical equipment.
Assisting in strategic sales efforts from a technical perspective.
RF Testing and Troubleshooting Conduct thorough testing of DAS networks using RF testing equipment to ensure optimal signal quality, coverage, and minimal interference. Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise during testing.
Staying updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to DAS systems, wireless communication, and networking.

Relationship Management:

Supporting engagement with the retail service providers as part of the Wholesale CNN model.
Supporting the engagement and services structure with enterprise managed network service providers
Working with the business commercialization teams on solution delivery for the Network business.

Qualifications:

Proven experience (minimum of 10 years) as an IBS Engineer with a track record of successful DAS network design, deployment, and optimization.
Proven experience in leading IBS teams & Mega-Projects.
Track record in managing the implementation of IBS projects
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
iBwave Level 3 certification.
Proficiency in model tuning and calibration of the 3D modelling using the iBwave tool.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex RF issues.
Highly developed analytical skills and critical thinking.
Expertise in authoring/evaluating RFP's/Proposals
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
An in-depth understanding of IT/engineering terminology in Networking and Telecommunications.
Structured problem solving and expert level prioritization skills.
