Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing restaurant chain as we expand our operations. As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibilities will be establishing and managing robust accounting processes, tools, and systems, and helping develop the accounting team in accordance with the growth path of the restaurants. Your primary focus will be to develop and implement efficient financial procedures, automate manual tasks, and enhance the overall accuracy and effectiveness of our accounting operations. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our organization by designing and implementing effective financial systems and controls.
Responsibilities:
Process and Systems Development : Design, document, and implement streamlined accounting processes, tools, and systems to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. This includes areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and inventory management.
System migration and integration : Partner with a cross-functional team to migrate and implement a series of accounting practices and platforms toward the goal of an independent restaurant ecosystem in conjunction with the growth of the brand.
Automation and Integration: Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting tasks through the implementation of appropriate technology solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial systems with other business applications, such as point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Perform periodic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Payment Processing and Vendor Partnership: Ensure timely payment of all invoices, work with Vendors and internal team members to complete credit applications and vendor setup, research and share findings on invoicing questions and exploration.
Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Additional responsibilities for this position include but aren't limited to:
Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing accounting systems, tools, and processes, and recommend enhancements or replacements where necessary.
Develop and maintain documentation for accounting policies, procedures, and workflows, ensuring clear guidelines and instructions.
Perform regular audits to identify discrepancies, errors, or inefficiencies in financial processes, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in accounting and finance, and proactively apply relevant knowledge to improve processes.
Provide training and support to accounting teams and other stakeholders on new processes, tools, and systems.
Experience and Capabilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA strongly preferred, but not required.
Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, with a focus on process improvement, preferably in a restaurant environment.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present sophisticated information to non-financial stakeholders.
