The Video Editor mixes and masters audio. Edits video footage to desired length and format, creates motion graphics, and completes color corrections. Being a Video Editor archives and stores all files, footage, graphics, and audio. Encodes final videos to desired size and format. In addition, Video Editor proficient using Adobe Creative suite and production software including After Effects and Final Cut and other editing software. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Video Editor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Working as a Video Editor typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Video Editor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to create high quality video content;
  • Organising and managing all audio and video assets to ensure a smooth workflow;
  • Video examples include creating clips for social, trailers and creating short form episodes from long form content;
  • Performing the full range of editing works from splicing, to sound balancing, to color correction and color grading;
  • Ability to grasp/understand the brief given, in order to meet the production team’s needs and specification standards;
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the video;
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film;
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency;
  • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience;
  • Create rough and final cuts for each video;
  • Insert music, dialogue, graphics and effects;
  • Consult with manager, from production to post-production process.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 – 2 years of working experience in its related field;
  • Proficient skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and related editing software;
  • adobe after effects;
  • Be able to jump from one video project to project and maintain multiple project files;
  • Must be creative, organised, efficient, detail-oriented and able to multitask;
  • Demonstrable video editing with strong portfolio;
  • Must be able to focus with high attention to detail, collaborate within the team but also work autonomously;
  • Must be flexible and able to work independently or with others depending on project needs;
  • Experience working with video editing software;
  • Must have a good analytical mind and seek continuous self-improvement;
  • Must be proactive, hardworking, and able to meet project deadlines;
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, video production or communications;
  • Proficient in audio mixing and colour correction;
  • Willing to travel to Limkokwing University’s international campuses around the world;
  • Willing to work late if needed.
