Our company is looking for a Duty Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Bilingual with good communication skills;
  • Manage, record, and resolve promptly all Guest complaints;
  • Coordinate the services and special facilities provided to long-stay Guests;
  • Stay current with all hotel products, services, policies and emergency procedures;
  • Daily/Month ly Reports and Stock take;
  • Be trustworthy, presentable, neat & fluent in English;
  • Knowledge on Cape Town (Tourist attractions, popular restaurants);
  • Assist in the day to day management of the hotel Operations to include front office, Housekeeping, F&B Service Levels, Administration,
  • Participate in interviewing and recruitment of Front Desk Agents;
  • Give effective support to staff for the work, which has to be done and assists in all matters pertaining to the Front Desk;
  • Oversee and participate in guest relations and direct arrangements for VIP and special attention reservations;
  • Due to the nature of this position (Live-in, rent free), single candidates would be preferred;
  • Knowledge in emergency procedures, general crisis situation procedures and keeping health and safety in the forefront;
  • Ensure that all controls are in place and are adhered to, ie. rates, market codes, etc;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Calm, efficient and the ability to work well under pressure;
  • Previous supervisory experience in Front Office within the hotel/leisure/retail sector;
  • Possesss strong commercial acumen, with experience in increasing profitability in a tight market sector;
  • Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results in a similar sized property;
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety and security procedures;
  • Excellent leadership skills and exceptional communication skills;
  • Must be computer literate on MS Office suite – a minimum of 2 yrs. previous working experience in Hospitality 2 years’ experience in similar role;
  • Diploma in Hotel Management or other related fields;
  • Polite, friendly person that can think on their feet;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license;
  • Strong F&B and Hosting skills;
  • Good all-rounder required;
  • Strong administration skills;
  • Well spoken and well presented individual;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
