Compile data, compute fees and charges, and prepare invoices for billing purposes. Duties include computing costs and calculating rates for goods, services, and shipment of goods; posting data; and keeping other relevant records. May involve use of computer or typewriter, calculator, and adding and bookkeeping machines.

Our company is looking for a Costing Clerk to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Update calculation spreadsheets when new or improved manufacturing processes are established;
  • Update reports when necessary;
  • and actual labour times;
  • Estimate manufacturing methods/times and material costs using the relevant database and send to;
  • Conduct variance analysis when a variance is reported by a relevant stakeholder;
  • Run reports as per departmental procedure;
  • Set up costing reports and send to managers for approval as per departmental procedure;
  • in order to maintain accurate costs on the system;
  • Approve steward sale issues and approve operating equipment issues;
  • Verify spoilage reports and approve beverage issues from outlets;
  • Perform yield test of meat, fish and juices;
  • Market survey of food products especially fruits and vegetables;
  • Recipe costing of new menus and suggests sale prices;
  • Update the Opera system with new beverage recipes in the micros interface;
  • Inventory and stock taking of various stores.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing/Mining industry experience required;
  • 2 years relevant estimating/costing experience in a technical environment;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Quality orientation;
  • Problem Solving;
  • Relevant costing/financial qualification advantageous;
  • Grade 12 with Mathematics / N3;
