Legal Counsel Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues;
- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights;
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations;
- Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces;
- Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation;
- Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance;
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority, etc.), creating relations of trust;
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization;
- Negotiates frame agreements and other contractual terms in collaboration with relevant business managers;
- Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility;
- Manages, liaises with and oversees use of external service providers, including external counsel;
- Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies;
- Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, etc.).
Requirements:
- degree in Law or equivalents;
- At least two (2) years working experience in law firm or legal department;
- Ability to manage numerous simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines;
- Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information;
- Must have at least 5 years and up of combined experience in the corporate setting and Law firm;
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;
- Bachelor of Law and Legal Management;
- Vast experience working on different cases and/or projects as well as experience working at all levels of management;
- Specialty in administrative law and procedures (SAUDI & International Law);
- A proven track record of creating effective legal strategies;
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity;
- BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree;
- Possess and ability to remain calm and composed during times of uncertainty and stress;
- MA or BSc in Business Administration will be considered an advantage;
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English language.
