Disability Case Specialist - French Bilingual (For Pooling)

Job Description: Overall Purpose: Are you interested in contributing to the health of Canadians? At Sun Life, we believe health is a significant determinant of success for both organizations and individuals; if so, consider a career as a Disability Case Specialist at Sun Life Financial where we believe in the relentless pursuit of better health and where we support our client and their employees in this journey. Responsibilities: • Adjudicate disability for eligibility of short and long-term benefits. This includes reviewing and analyzing contractual, medical, functional and occupational information • Coordinate appropriate interventions including, but not limited to: Independent Medical Evaluations, Functional • Capacity Evaluations, Ergonomic assessments, Medical Consultant Opinions, Rehabilitation Consultant resources, and Consulting Mental Health Experts • Work collaboratively with insured employees, clients, lawyers, health care practitioners and other stakeholders to obtain information, provide claim status, create action plans and communicate verbal and written decisions while maintaining confidentiality and privacy • Conduct telephone interviews in both English and French languages to obtain information to develop and maintain outcome-focused case management plans to support employees in their recovery and return to work • Identify and assess medical and non-medical influencing factors, functional capability, restrictions and limitations • Build strong relationships with our clients: employers and their employees • Participate in face to face (virtual) client meetings • Engage in continuous learning about disability practices and tools Job Category:
