Distribution Center Safety Officer
The Distribution Center Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining workplace safety, health, and environmental protocols within the warehouse or distribution center. This role ensures the organization's full compliance with local and national regulatory requirements and industry standards. The Safety Officer proactively identifies potential hazards, conducts safety audits and training, and promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all operations to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance of the distribution center with established procedures, standards, and specifications to meet or exceed target key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the implementation, control, and continuous improvement of the distribution center's Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) management system to ensure alignment with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and safety within the distribution center through consistent implementation of good housekeeping practices
Qualifications
- Preferably with a valid BOSH (Basic Occupational Safety and Health) certification.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar safety officer role, preferably in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center environment.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
- Knowledgeable in first aid and emergency response protocols
- Proficient in implementing 5S and other workplace safety practices
