A caretaker is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the day-to-day operations of a property, facility, or individual’s personal needs. The role may vary depending on the setting, but common responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and Repairs
- Conduct routine maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Perform minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
- Monitor and address safety hazards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills (for personal care roles).
- Physical stamina to handle manual tasks.
- First Aid or CPR certification (preferred in personal care settings).
