Sales Assistant

Customer Service:
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers in finding products, answer questions, and offer recommendations based on their needs.
- Provide product knowledge, helping customers understand features, benefits, and usage.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Sales Support:
- Actively engage with customers to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assist with processing transactions at the cash register, including handling payments (cash, card, or digital payments).
- Inform customers about promotions, discounts, and store loyalty programs.
Stock Management:
- Ensure the sales floor is properly stocked, replenishing items as necessary.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, checking stock levels, and organizing products on the shelves.
- Monitor and maintain visual merchandising standards, ensuring products are presented attractively and in line with store guidelines.
- Assist in preparing products for restocking, including tagging, labeling, or packaging items.
Education:
- Minimum Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is generally required for most entry-level positions.
- Further Education: Some employers may prefer candidates with additional qualifications in business, retail management, or sales. However, this is not always required.
Experience:
- Entry-Level: Previous experience in retail, customer service, or sales is often beneficial but not always necessary for entry-level roles. Many employers are willing to train new employees.
- Previous Retail Experience: Experience in a retail environment, working with customers, or in a sales role is preferred.
- Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems: Experience with POS systems and cash handling can be an advantage.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage customers in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
- Ability to address customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints effectively and ensure a positive experience.
- Empathy and patience when dealing with diverse customer needs.
Sales Skills:
- Ability to meet and exceed sales targets and goals.
- Upselling and cross-selling skills to suggest additional products or services.
- Confidence in promoting store promotions, loyalty programs, or discounts.
