- Makes and serves coffee and other drinks, and provides customer service in a coffee shop, cafe, or other hospitality venue. Baristas may also prepare food, such as sandwiches, muffins, or cookies.
- Responsibilities:
- Make drinks: Baristas use coffee machines to brew coffee, espresso, and tea. They may also make blended drinks.
- Prepare food: Baristas may serve baked goods, sandwiches, or other food items.
- Take orders: Baristas take orders from customers, and may ask about preferences or special requests.
- Process payments: Baristas use cash registers or other payment systems to process customer payments.
- Maintain cleanliness: Baristas keep their work area, service areas, and equipment clean and sanitized.
- Manage inventory: Baristas check inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Provide customer service: Baristas interact with customers, answer questions, and make recommendations.
