Education:
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Completion of clinical rotations or internships during pharmacy education to gain practical experience.
Licensing:
- A valid pharmacist license to practice in the specific state or country, which typically requires passing a national licensing exam (e.g., NAPLEX in the U.S.) and any required state exams.
- Continuing education to maintain licensure and stay current on industry developments.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and therapeutic protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail for accurately dispensing medications and monitoring prescriptions.
- Good communication skills to effectively counsel patients and collaborate with healthcare providers.

- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for managing prescriptions, patient records, and inventory.
Experience:
- Experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting is often preferred, though new graduates may also be hired for entry-level roles.
- Previous experience with medication management, patient counseling, and healthcare team collaboration is valuable.
