Chemist

1.  Oversees and performs the required chemical and physical analyses according to specified methods to produce accurate, timely, and relevant test results.

2. Ensures that the analyses are released on time

3. Prepares, reviews, and ensures correctness of data generated.

4. Prepares standards and reagents required for the analysis in accordance with prescribed

test methods and maintains the assigned equipment for proper conduct of the

laboratory tests.

5.  Ensures systematic workflow by regular and proper timing of laboratory tests in order of priority.

6.  Prepare samples for subcontracting to other laboratories for analyses that cannot be done at the F.A.S.T. laboratory .

7. Safeguard the confidentiality of test results and procedures of customers.

8. Strictly implements the established laboratory quality system based on PNS ISO/IEC

17025, as well as on other accrediting government and private institutions.

9. Ensures availability of chemicals and supplies by proper monitoring and immediate

requisition in order to ensure timely delivery to avoid delay in test results.

10. Observes guidelines on good housekeeping in the laboratory and its environment, safety

guidelines and proper and efficient disposal of laboratory wastes.

11. Participates in proficiency testing and other quality assurance programs of the laboratory, including method verification and validation as required.

12. Provides assistance in the conduct of non-routinary analysis of new capabilities of the

laboratory

13. Trains new hires and laboratory staff, on-the-job trainees on physical / chemical

analyses techniques

14. Reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor / Laboratory Business Manager.

15. Represents F.A.S.T. Laboratories in professional circles, technical fora, etc., as

required.

16. Performs other tasks as necessary to support the objectives of the laboratory and the

cooperative except marketing-related activities.
