Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Designer with strong experience in roadway, drainage, and grading design for both public and private projects. This role supports wind, solar, utility, and broader civil infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient in Civil 3D, and capable of managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert conceptual designs into accurate, detailed working documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Prepare preliminary layouts and final design drawings based on engineering notes, sketches, survey base maps, shapefiles, and topographic/planimetric mapping
• Utilize third-party software such as AutoTURN when required
• Ensure all designs comply with project scope, client standards, jurisdictional codes, and industry best practices
• Maintain project schedules and consistently meet established deadlines
• Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and quality control
• Organize and manage drawing revisions and maintain well-structured project documentation
• Develop, maintain, and improve civil drawing standards and templates
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to coordinate design efforts
• Support additional duties and special projects as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
• Strong experience preparing construction documents, including:
• Plan and profile sheets
• Site plans
• Cross sections
• Detailed construction notes
• Extensive experience with:
• Surface and corridor modeling
• Pipe networks
• Grading tools
• Proficiency with Sheet Set Manager, including fields, custom properties, and Model/Sheet views
• Strong understanding of Civil 3D project structure and drawing organization
• Experience adhering to and maintaining CAD standards to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Knowledge of Data Shortcuts is a plus

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred (required for advanced-level roles)
