Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized AR and AP Specialist to manage the financial operations of Australian strata properties. The ideal candidate has experience in Australian accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly financial reports for strata corporations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile trust accounts in accordance with Australian strata regulations.
- Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
- Respond to financial queries from property managers, committees, and clients.
- Maintain general ledgers, journals, and other accounting records.
- Process levy notices, monitor collections, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and internal financial controls.
- Assist with Australian payroll processing, wage calculations, BAS preparation, and other taxation-related tasks, as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in Australian strata accounting, property accounting, or a similar accounting role.
- Experience with Australian taxation, BAS preparation, payroll processing, and wage calculations.
- Knowledge of trust accounting and Australian strata legislation is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Strata Master, StrataMax, MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks .
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
