Job Overview

The Sr. Microsoft Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and implementing Microsoft-based infrastructure solutions across customer environments, leading complex Microsoft technology projects, and delivering expert-level consulting, deployment, and support across Microsoft platforms including on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Microsoft Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Design, deploy, and implement Microsoft-based infrastructure solutions aligned with business, security, and scalability requirements.
• Project Implementation Leadership: Lead and execute complex Microsoft technology projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, timeline, and quality standards.
• Active Directory Management: Manage and support Active Directory environments including domain architecture, DNS integration, Group Policy, replication, trusts, FSMO roles, and authentication services.
• Cloud & Hybrid Solutions: Plan, execute, and support on-premises, hybrid, and cloud migrations with focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Entra ID/Azure AD).
• Virtualization Support: Implement and support Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows-based virtualization environments supporting critical workloads.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Perform advanced troubleshooting across Windows Server, networking, storage, and virtualization environments.
• PowerShell Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline administrative and operational tasks.
• Customer Engagement: Provide consultative, customer-facing technical support translating business requirements into scalable Microsoft solutions.
• Documentation: Produce and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, solution architects, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• After-Hours Support: Participate in cutovers, migrations, and critical deployments outside standard business hours when required.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional services, MSP, VAR, systems integrator, or enterprise IT environment.
• Functional Skills: Strong expertise in Microsoft infrastructure design, deployment, support, troubleshooting, and migration across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. Experience with enterprise-scale solution delivery and customer-facing technical consulting.
• Technical Skills: Deep hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, replication, trusts, FSMO roles), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Entra ID/Azure AD), Hyper-V virtualization, and Windows-based infrastructure. Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, subnetting, and VPNs. Experience with PowerShell automation, infrastructure-as-code concepts (ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell DSC), endpoint management tools (Intune, MECM/SCCM), and backup/recovery solutions such as Veeam. Familiarity with Microsoft security and identity technologies including MFA, conditional access, and role-based access control. Exposure to compliance frameworks such as PCI, HIPAA, or SOC 2 is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, ownership mindset, adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in fast-paced, project-driven environments.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong consultative, professional, and customer-facing presence.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
