The Data Architect defines and governs the enterprise data architecture, ensuring that data platforms, models, integrations, governance standards, and analytics capabilities align with business objectives and technology strategy. This role translates business and information requirements into scalable, secure, and reusable data solutions while guiding engineering teams throughout implementation. The Data Architect serves as a strategic partner across the organization, shaping how data is structured, integrated, governed, and leveraged for analytics and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise and solution-level data architecture roadmaps.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business processes, operational systems, and analytics needs.
- Define data integration patterns across applications, platforms, APIs, and external systems.
- Establish standards for master data, metadata, data quality, data lineage, and governance frameworks.
- Evaluate, select, and recommend technologies for data warehousing, data lakes, cloud data platforms, and analytics ecosystems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, security controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Assess architectural risks, dependencies, scalability, resiliency, and sustainability across data platforms.
- Support architecture reviews, technical governance processes, and modernization initiatives.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to data engineers, developers, and analysts.
Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in data architecture, data modeling, and enterprise information management.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical)
- Data Warehousing & Lakehouse Architectures
- Cloud Data Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Data Integration & API Architecture
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Data Governance & Data Quality
- Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Security, Privacy, and Compliance Controls
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data solutions and long-term technology roadmaps.
Technical Skills:
- Enterprise data architecture and modeling
- Database design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Data integration, ETL/ELT, and API-driven architecture
- Cloud and analytics platform architecture
- Information governance, metadata management, and security
- Architecture documentation, standards, and blueprinting
