Coating Inspector

The Coating Inspector is responsible for inspecting the quality and application of coatings on materials and structures to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications. This role includes evaluating surface preparation, coating application techniques, and the final condition of coatings, ensuring that they provide the desired protection against corrosion and environmental factors. The Coating Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that coatings are applied properly, ensuring durability and long-term performance of the equipment and structures.
- Certification in coating inspection, such as NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) or SSPC Coating Inspector Program.
- Minimum of 04 years of experience in coating inspection, preferably in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of surface preparation methods (e.g., abrasive blasting, power tooling) and coating application techniques (e.g., spraying, brushing, dipping).
- Experience with coating inspection equipment, including dry film thickness gauges, adhesion testers, and surface profile gauges.
- Familiarity with coating types, including epoxies, polyurethanes, and zinc-rich coatings, and their suitability for different environmental conditions.
- Understanding of industry standards and specifications for coatings (e.g., SSPC, NACE, BGAS)
- Strong understanding of corrosion protection and the role of coatings in preventing corrosion on metal surfaces.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including coating specifications, drawings, and datasheets.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify minor defects or inconsistencies in coating applications.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions and on different job sites.
- Ability to pass required medical and safety screenings.
