A janitor performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that buildings, offices, schools, hospitals, or other facilities remain clean, sanitary, and safe for occupants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
- Dust and wipe furniture, windows, and surfaces.
- Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or reporting repair needs.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and maintain cleaning tools.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards.
