Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates with other educational backgrounds may be considered if they have extensive relevant experience.

Experience and Technical Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer, with strong application analysis and troubleshooting skills. (Must-have)
• Strong, current hands-on experience in Java 8/17 and Spring Boot. (Must-have)
• Solid experience with Spring MVC and the legacy Spring Framework.
• Hands-on knowledge of Spring Security, including CSRF protection.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and separation of concerns.
• Proficiency in full-stack development, REST APIs, and API integration.
• Experience with C#, .NET, JSF/JSP, and frontend fundamentals such as JavaScript and CSS.
• Working knowledge of MySQL databases and Tomcat 10.1.
• Experience with Maven, Ant, Azure DevOps, TFS, Agile Scrum, and Git Flow.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, testing, debugging, and technical documentation.
• Experience in business processes is an advantage but not required.

Work Schedule and Conditions

Job Summary

The Senior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing Java-based applications while ensuring high standards of code quality, system performance, and service reliability. The role contributes to continuous service improvement, resolves complex technical issues, supports project delivery, and collaborates with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Software Development and Change Management

• Analyze business processes and assess change requests to identify requirements, feasibility, dependencies, compatibility, and estimated timelines.
• Coordinate with supervisors, project teams, and end-users to clarify requirements and recommend system improvements.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and logical programming instructions.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications using established coding standards and best practices.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Evaluate application design and recommend tools and practices to improve code quality and system performance.

2. Customer Service and Technical Support

• Maintain positive client relationships and ensure the delivery of high-quality technical support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues and programming errors.
• Provide regular updates to clients regarding project progress, technical concerns, and resolution timelines.
• Support knowledge transfer and documentation during project handovers.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives to prevent recurring incidents and enhance service quality.

3. Project Coordination and Documentation

• Assist in defining project tasks, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation for requirements analysis, system design, prototyping, and implementation.
• Monitor service deliverables and maintain accurate project records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, including CMMI practices.
• Conduct technical assessments of job applicants when required.

4. Team Collaboration and Mentoring

• Collaborate with team leads and colleagues to address technical concerns, share recommendations, and improve team performance.
• Provide technical guidance and assist team members in resolving development and application support issues.
• Support knowledge transfer during project transitions and handovers.
• Adjust priorities and provide assistance to other team members to maintain service continuity.

5. Research and Continuous Learning

• Research emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend innovative technical solutions that enhance application functionality and user experience.
• Stay updated on relevant technologies, system changes, and business processes.
• Share technical expertise and provide training to Application Support team members and Analyst Programmers.
