Storekeeper

Description

The Storekeeper is responsible for efficiently handling warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, organizing, and dispatching materials. This role requires safe and competent operation and other material handling equipment, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring proper housekeeping in the warehouse.

• Transport materials and equipment safely within project sites and warehouses.
• Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, inspect for damage, and prepare receiving reports.
• Properly label, tag, and store items according to warehouse layout and material category.
• Ensure proper arrangement of stocks to avoid damage and ensure FIFO compliance.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, storage areas, and workstations.
• Inspect daily for mechanical issues and report defects promptly.
• Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with inventory control by accurately recording material movements.
• Collaborate with site teams to coordinate timely delivery and movement of supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of equipments and work areas.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
• Issue materials to installation or requestors based on approved documents.
• Conduct periodic cycle counts and supports full physical inventory audits.

Requirements

• Minimum Educational Attainment: At least a Junior High School Level Completer (Grade 10) or holder of an Alternative Learning System (ALS) Certificate of Completion.
• Core Competencies: Ability to perform visual and operational checks; Skills in loading and unloading materials; Knowledge of interpreting load charts and safe lifting operations; Understanding of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Professional Driver’s License: Possession of a valid Professional Driver’s License is typically in construction and industrial settings.
• Physical and Health Requirements: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to operate heavy equipment safely.
• Proven experience operating lifting equipments in construction, manufacturing, or warehouse settings.
• Familiarity with lifting equipment types, load capacities, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of proper material handling, stacking, and storage techniques.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Understanding of workplace safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Basic skills in reading load charts and interpreting operational instructions.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
