Painter

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle panels, fabricated components, and accessories for painting, including

sanding, masking, priming, and surface repair

• Apply high-quality paint finishes using spray guns, booth systems, and appropriate coatings

• Color match paints and ensure consistency across panels and components

• Apply mine-spec reflective striping, safety decals, branding stickers, and identification

markings

• Work with fabricators and mechanics to ensure painted components align with build progress

• Conduct quality checks on finish, adhesion, and compliance with mine-spec branding and

safety requirements

• Maintain paint booth, equipment, and materials to ensure safe and compliant operation

• Follow all safety procedures regarding chemicals, PPE, and controlled environments

Skills & Experience

• Trade qualification in Automotive Refinishing Technology or equivalent an advantage.

• Strong experience in spray painting, color matching, prep work, and surface finishing

• Ability to work with a variety of coatings including automotive enamels, 2-pack, primers, and

protective coatings

• Experience applying vinyl decals, reflective striping, safety labels, and vehicle graphics

• Knowledge of surface preparation for steel, aluminum, and fabricated assemblies

• High attention to detail with a strong focus on finish quality and consistency

• Strong understanding of workshop safety and hazardous materials handling
