The Janitorial Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the facility. This role includes routine cleaning tasks, sanitation
duties, and responding to maintenance requests to support a healthy and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in assigned areas.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
- Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed.
- Dust furniture, vents, ledges, and other surfaces.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and interior partitions.
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and cleaning products.
- Report safety hazards, damages, or needed repairs to the supervisor.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and safety guidelines.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners).
- Maintain secure storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is an asset.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, walking, and standing for long periods.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures is helpful.
