Horticulturist

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Horticulturist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the health, maintenance, and overall well-being of our plant collections. This role requires a dynamic individual who can manage both fieldwork and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plant Care & Maintenance: You'll oversee all aspects of plant care, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and pest and disease management for a diverse range of plant species.
• On-site Monitoring: This position requires frequent site visits to our various locations to monitor plant health, identify issues, and implement solutions. You'll assess environmental factors and make recommendations for improvements.
• Operational Tasks: When not in the field, you'll be responsible for office-based tasks. This includes creating and managing plant care schedules, maintaining plant inventory records, and preparing reports on plant health and project progress.
• Research & Development: Stay informed on the latest horticultural trends and research to ensure we're using the most effective and sustainable practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to coordinate projects and ensure a cohesive approach to landscape management.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Science, or a related field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a horticulturist or in a similar role.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, pest management, and landscape design principles.
• Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and treat plant health issues.
• Proficiency in horticultural tools and equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for both fieldwork and office tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
