- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Scan items, process payments, and issue receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
- Ensure the correct change is provided to customers and balance the cash register at the end of each shift.
- Assist customers with questions regarding products, promotions, and store policies.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and escalate as needed.
- Bag or package items for customers, ensuring safe handling of products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
- Monitor and restock the cash register with necessary supplies (e.g., receipt paper, bags).
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient store operations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and securing the register.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and company policies and procedures.
- Assist in inventory management, restocking shelves, and organizing merchandise.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a degree).
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric attitude.
- Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash registers.
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising.
- Bilingual abilities may be a plus, depending on the customer base.
