Cashier

The Plant Cashier is responsible for handling all cash-related transactions at the plant level, including collections, disbursements, and daily fund monitoring. The position ensures that all cash movements are properly recorded, supported by valid documents, and reported accurately and on time to the Accounting Department.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Cash Handling and Disbursement

• Manage the plant’s petty cash fund and ensure all disbursements are properly authorized and documented.
• Issue official receipts and ensure all collections are deposited daily or as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate records of all cash inflows and outflows.
• Reconcile cash on hand versus book balance on a daily basis.

B. Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare daily cash reports and submit to the Plant Accountant and Head Office.
• Ensure completeness of supporting documents (e.g., RFPs, ORs, vouchers, and invoices).
• Assist in the preparation of liquidation reports for cash advances and reimbursements.
• Maintain organized filing of all financial documents for easy retrieval during audit.

C. Coordination and Compliance

• Coordinate with the Plant Accountant regarding fund replenishment requests.
• Follow company policies and accounting procedures on cash management and disbursements.
• Support internal and external audit requirements by providing necessary documents and reports.
• Ensure compliance with company rules, safety regulations, and confidentiality of financial data.

D. Other Tasks

• Assist in monitoring expenses and budget utilization at the plant level.
• Perform other related tasks that may be assigned by the Plant Accountant or Head Office Finance Team.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration .
• Preferably with at least 1 year of experience in cashiering, accounting, or related work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, honesty, and high sense of responsibility.
• Can work under minimal supervision and handle confidential information.

IV. WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION

• Based at the ESGVI - SAMAR
• Work schedule follows standard plant operations; may render overtime if necessary.
