Snowflake Lead Consultant

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Consultant – Snowflake Data Platform to support the design, implementation, and optimization of modern cloud-based data and analytics solutions.

This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing Snowflake platforms that support enterprise reporting, analytics, data engineering, and advanced data initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, architects, and technology partners to ensure solutions align with business objectives, governance standards, and best practices.

The position combines hands-on technical delivery with solution design, stakeholder engagement, and advisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Delivery

• Design and implement modern data platforms using Snowflake technologies and capabilities.
  
• Develop and maintain ELT pipelines, data transformations, and integration processes using SQL and approved data engineering tools.
  
• Build data ingestion frameworks supporting batch and near-real-time processing requirements.
  
• Enable analytics and reporting through curated data models, secure data access patterns, and optimized datasets.
  
• Support the development of scalable data solutions for reporting, business intelligence, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Design, develop, and optimize data transformation processes and analytical datasets.
  
• Create and maintain dimensional models and other enterprise data modeling approaches as required.
  
• Implement data quality, metadata management, and data lineage practices.
  
• Prepare and structure data to support advanced analytics and machine learning use cases where applicable.
  
• Ensure data solutions are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  

Governance, Operations & Optimization

• Monitor and optimize platform performance, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
  
• Apply security and governance controls including role-based access management, data protection mechanisms, and least-privilege principles.
  
• Support CI/CD processes, version control practices, automated deployments, and release management activities.
  
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, operational procedures, and support guides.
  
• Contribute to ongoing platform improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
  

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

• Collaborate with business users, analysts, data engineers, and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  
• Provide recommendations on platform design, scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization considerations.
  
• Participate in solution design discussions and support the adoption of best practices across projects.
  
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with Snowflake architecture, administration, and development.
  
• Solid understanding of modern data warehouse and lakehouse architectures.
  
• Advanced SQL development and data modeling skills.
  
• Experience building and supporting data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes.
  
• Knowledge of data security, governance, identity and access management, and platform optimization practices.
  
• Familiarity with batch and near-real-time data processing approaches.
  

Professional Experience

• 6–9 years of experience in data and analytics-related roles.
  
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience delivering Snowflake-based data platform solutions.
  
• Proven experience designing and implementing modern data platforms and analytics solutions.
  
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and consulting skills.
  
• Experience working in project delivery environments with cross-functional teams.
