Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support in daily accounting and bookkeeping operations. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, data entry, and financial reporting while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Record daily transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments)
- Update and maintain the general ledger and journals
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly
- Manage petty cash and expense records
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Handle invoice verification and payment scheduling
- Prepare basic financial reports (income statement, balance sheet)
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing
- File and organize financial documents
- Support audits and other admin tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Good with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
- Can keep financial information confidential
- Good communication skills
