Accounting Supervisor

Accounting Supervisor – Duties and Responsibilities 1. Financial Operations & Supervision Supervise daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Cash Management Review and ensure accuracy of financial transactions and supporting documents Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of accounting records in compliance with Palau regulations 2. Reporting & Compliance (Palau Requirements) Prepare and review monthly and annual financial reports for Management Ensure compliance with Palau National Code, Bureau of Revenue and Taxation (BRT) requirements, and applicable accounting standards Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government offices when required 3. Taxation & Government Remittances Ensure proper computation, filing, and timely payment of: Wage and Salary Tax (WST) Gross Revenue Tax (GRT) Other applicable local taxes and fees Prepare and submit required tax reports and documents to the Bureau of Revenue and Taxation (BRT) Address tax assessments, notices, and compliance issues promptly 4. Payroll & Labor Compliance Supervise payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness Ensure compliance with: Palau minimum wage laws Overtime, holiday pay, and leave policies as required by Palau labor regulations Oversee proper remittance of: Palau Social Security contributions Other statutory deductions required by law Maintain payroll records, contracts, and employee-related financial documentation 5. Revenue, Cash & Cost Control Monitor daily revenue from hotel, restaurant, bar, and other outlets Review cash handling procedures, deposits, and bank reconciliations Implement and monitor cost control measures, inventory accounting, and variance analysis 6. Inventory & Asset Management Supervise inventory valuation, stock movements, and physical counts Maintain fixed assets register and ensure proper recording and depreciation Coordinate with department heads on inventory discrepancies and controls 7. Team Supervision & Internal Controls Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff Enforce internal control procedures and segregation of duties Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial information 8. Management Support Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis Provide Management with accurate financial data and recommendations Support cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency programs 9. Other Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned by Management Ensure professionalism, ethical conduct, and compliance at all times Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 3–5 years accounting experience, preferably with supervisory responsibility Strong knowledge of Palau tax system, payroll, and labor compliance Experience in hotel or hospitality accounting is an advantage Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel High level of integrity, attention to detail, and leadership ability
