- Consultations: Assess clients’ needs by asking questions about their health history, areas of discomfort, and massage preferences before beginning treatments.
- Massage Techniques: Perform a variety of massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, or hot stone therapy, tailored to each client’s needs.
- Create Treatment Plans: Develop customized massage plans for clients based on their goals, whether it’s relaxation, pain relief, or rehabilitation.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate and confidential client records, including treatment history and progress.
- Provide Aftercare Advice: Offer clients guidance on post-massage care, including stretches or self-care techniques to maintain muscle health.
- Maintain a Clean Workspace: Ensure massage rooms, linens, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Experience: Previous experience as a massage therapist or similar role is often preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, kneel, and apply pressure for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide feedback.
- Empathy: Compassionate, understanding, and able to work with clients in both physical and emotional distress.
