A forklift operator's job is to use a forklift to move goods around warehouses and other industrial sites. Their responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading : Receiving and unloading deliveries, and loading shipments ahead of schedule
- Stacking : Stacking boxes for storage
- Tracking : Tracking heavy materials
- Filling orders : Filling orders and interacting with customers
- Inventory : Counting and organizing inventory
- Safety : Operating all equipment safely and following safety guidelines
- Certification : A valid forklift operator's license and certification from a recognized body
- Education : A high school diploma or GED
- Physical condition : Be in good physical condition
- Skills : Have excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and spatial relationships
- Communication : Have good written and verbal communication skills
- Math : Have mathematical aptitude and be able to perform basic math
- Organizational skills : Have good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reading : Be able to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines
- Teamwork : Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Can driving 4-6 wheels
