Book Formatting Specialist

At Whole Heart Publishing, we bring love stories to life—stories that uplift women and honor real connection. We’re looking for a Book Formatting Specialist who is hardworking and extremely attentive to detail to help bring these stories to readers around the world.

We’re seeking a Book Formatting Specialist to prepare romance novels for publication.

This role focuses on ensuring every book meets professional publishing standards while delivering a seamless reading experience for readers across eBook and print platforms.

You’ll work closely with our publishing team to format manuscripts using industry-standard formatting practices and Vellum. The role involves maintaining consistency across titles, preparing clean and publication-ready files, and ensuring every book is formatted to a high professional standard. The ideal candidate understands that formatting is more than arranging text on a page—it’s about creating a polished product that enhances readability and reflects the quality of the story within.

• You have professional experience formatting books for publication, preferably within the romance genre.
• You are proficient in Vellum and understand the requirements for both eBook and print formats.
• You have a strong eye for detail and can spot inconsistencies in layout, styling, and presentation.
• You understand publishing standards and best practices for front matter, chapter formatting, page design, and print preparation.
• You are highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote environment.
• You are collaborative, receptive to feedback, and committed to producing high-quality work.

• Proficiency with Vellum (required)

• Experience formatting romance novels is highly preferred
