Job description:
The purpose of the Sales Associate role is to drive growth and revenue for the Cargo Data Exchange platform by identifying new business opportunities and managing relationships with existing clients in the logistics, freight and cargo industries. This position is pivotal in promoting the platform’s value proposition, securing new clients, ensuring successful onboarding, and providing ongoing support to maximize customer satisfaction and retention.
Principal Accountabilities (The main areas in which this job must get results in order to achieve its purpose/ accountabilities of the job holder
1. Revenue Generation:● Achieving sales targets and contributing to overall revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing client relationships.
● Meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales quotas, lead conversion rates, and customer retention goals.
2. Client Relationship Management:
● Maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, and addressing any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
● Ensuring clients successfully onboard, adopt, and maximize the value of the Cargo Data Exchange platform.
● Acting as the main point of contact for assigned clients and resolving any escalated issues.
3. Sales Pipeline & Lead Management:
● Effectively managing the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent follow-ups, and advancing leads through the sales process.
● Tracking all sales activities and client interactions through the CRM system, ensuring up-to-date records and accurate reporting.
4. Market and Industry Knowledge:
● Continuously staying informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in the logistics and cargo sectors.
● Using this knowledge to inform sales strategies, product presentations, and client solutions.
5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment:
● Collaborating with product and customer support teams to ensure alignment on client needs, solutions and service delivery.
● Ensuring that client feedback is effectively communicated to the product team for potential improvements to the platform.
6. Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
● Providing regular updates on sales performance, and pipeline status.
● Accurately forecasting sales revenue based on pipeline activity and customer engagement.
7. Customer Retention & Expansion:
● Proactively identifying opportunities to expand business with existing clients, such as cross-selling or upselling additional services.
● Ensuring high client retention rates by providing exceptional service and supporting clients' long-term success with the platform.

4. Upsell/Cross-sell Success: Value of additional services or products sold to existing clients.
5. Sales Pipeline: Number and value of active opportunities in the sales pipeline.
Qualifications:
●Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
●1 year in sales or account management, preferably in logistics, cargo, or technology solutions.
●Strong account management and relationship-building abilities.
●Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
●Familiarity with cargo, logistics, or supply chain operations.
●Proficiency in CRM tools and sales software.
●Basic understanding of data exchange platforms and logistics technology.
