Healthcare Customer Service Representative (Patient Scheduling)
Position Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and empathetic Healthcare Customer Service Representative to support patients with their appointment scheduling needs. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from the moment they reach out to book an appointment. You will work closely with providers and clinic staff to coordinate schedules while upholding high standards of professionalism and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients seeking to book, confirm, or modify appointments.
- Gather and update patient information accurately, including personal details and insurance coverage.
- Provide clear information regarding available providers, clinic hours, and appointment preparation.
- Coordinate schedules with healthcare providers to optimize availability and minimize wait times.
- Record all patient interactions in the system promptly and accurately.
- Address patient questions and concerns with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet departmental goals and deliver excellent service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in healthcare administration or customer service is a plus.
- With or Without BPO EXPERIENCE
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency; experience with scheduling software or EMR systems is an advantage.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
