About the role
We are looking for a Head of Mediation & Negotiation to establish and lead a new Mediation & Negotiation (M&N) business vertical in the Philippines. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing creditor partnerships, designing debt mediation solutions, driving revenue, and building a high-performing team. The successful candidate will negotiate settlements between financially distressed customers and their creditors while identifying opportunities to convert eligible customers into loan consolidation and refinancing programs.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with banks, credit card issuers, online lending apps, financing companies, digital banks, BNPL providers, and third-party collection agencies
Lead complex creditor negotiations involving settlement discounts, interest and penalty waivers, restructuring terms, and repayment plans
Develop the commercial model, pricing strategy, referral partnerships, and revenue-generating channels for the new business vertical
Own revenue, customer acquisition costs, operating costs, settlement success rates, and overall profitability
Establish the end-to-end customer journey, negotiation playbooks, settlement documentation, workflows, and performance dashboards
Recruit, train, and manage the founding team of lender negotiation specialists, debt mediation consultants, and sales analysts
Work with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Product, and Technology teams to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
Increase settlement volumes, expand the lender network, and convert eligible customers into consolidation and refinancing products
About you
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related field
8–12 years of relevant experience in collections, debt recovery, loan restructuring, debt settlement, credit operations, or debt-related sales within the Philippine market
Established and verifiable relationships with decision-makers in the collections and recovery teams of Philippine banks, online lending apps, and lending or financing companies
Proven track record of negotiating debt settlements, restructuring agreements, or creditor partnerships
At least 4 years of people management experience, preferably involving team building or business expansion
Experience managing revenue, collection, recovery, or commercial performance targets
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills in Filipino and English
Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with CRM systems, dashboards, and operational tools
Preferred: Building a new business unit, product, or function from the ground up
Preferred: P&L ownership or responsibility for business unit economics
Preferred: Background in fintech, debt mediation, financial wellness, or distressed consumer debt
Preferred: Exposure to debt mediation models in Indonesia or other Southeast Asian markets
