Assistant Financial Controller – Full-Time Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Financial Controller to support a US-based recruiting firm with invoicing, accounts receivable, contracts, financial reporting, and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has strong accounting/bookkeeping knowledge, advanced Microsoft Excel skills , excellent written business English, and the ability to independently manage recurring financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and send client invoices, apply payments, and maintain accurate billing records.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) , send professional collection follow-ups, and escalate overdue accounts.
• Draft client service agreements using existing templates, coordinate e-signatures, and maintain organized contract records.
• Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly financial reports, metrics, and KPIs , including revenue, placements, AR aging, and recruiter productivity.
• Conduct month-end close support, account reconciliations, data cleanup, and financial audits.
• Maintain accurate data in the company's recruiting/ATS system.
• Send and track client surveys and maintain organized records.
• Communicate professionally with US-based clients regarding invoices, payments, and account-related matters.
• Perform other finance, accounting, and data-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong accounting or bookkeeping background; degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong data-analysis abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English, particularly for professional client-facing communication.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles, invoicing, AR, and reconciliations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
• Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage recurring processes independently.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required .
• Experience with Bill.com or similar AP/AR platforms is strongly preferred .

Required: Microsoft Excel
Preferred: Bill.com or comparable AP/AR platform
Nice to Have: Bullhorn ATS, Gusto, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams), Jotform or similar e-signature tools.

Schedule & Hiring

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Work Setup: Remote from Home – Philippines
• Hiring Preference: Experienced professionals; best skills and qualifications will be prioritized
