Retail Sales Assistant

- Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and help them find products. Inform them about promotions and deals.
- Sales and transactions: Process sales using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system, handle payments, and manage returns.
- Inventory and merchandising: Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain a clean and visually appealing sales floor.
- Store maintenance: Ensure the store is tidy and well-organized.
- Administrative support: Perform general administrative tasks, which may include processing sales reports or other duties to support senior sales staff.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with customers.
- Customer service skills: A positive attitude and the ability to remain patient and calm, even in stressful situations.
- Basic math and cash handling: Proficiency in handling money accurately.
- Organizational skills: Ability to keep things orderly and pay attention to detail.
- Physical ability: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light merchandise.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.
- Computer literacy: Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer data entry.
- Initiative: Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Sales skills: Confidence and the ability to encourage customers to make purchases.
