Service Technician

A service technician installs, maintains, and repairs equipment, machinery, or systems in the field or at a facility. They diagnose technical problems, replace faulty parts, and ensure devices operate safely and correctly while providing customer support.
Responsibilities
- Installation: Set up and test new hardware, products, or machinery to verify proper operation.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Use tools to find mechanical or electrical errors, fix broken parts, or order replacements.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine system checks and servicing to prevent unexpected failures.
- Customer Service: Teach clients how to use products correctly and explain complex technical issues clearly.
- Documentation: Write detailed service logs and record parts used for every completed job. [1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6]
Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma; vocational school or trade certification is often preferred.
Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of diagnostic tools.
Communication: Good interpersonal skills to deal with clients and explain repairs.
Physical: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, or work in tight spaces.
