Senior Steel Detail Modellers
Mechwest is seeking talented Senior Steel Detail Modellers with a strong interest in dynamic workflows, cutting edge technology and a supportive management team that care.
This is an opportunity to work with some of the country’s largest and most rewarding mining and infrastructure projects. We are focused on solving specific industry problems through developing enabling software and solutions which embrace collaboration and business intelligence.
Experience and Skills Required:
Advanced Tekla, Autodesk Advance Steel or Prosteel (AutoCAD) experience essential
Minimum 5 years experience on Australian mining/materials handling projects
Interpret engineering design drawings, standard drawings and specifications
Modelling of structural, mechanical, conveyor or platework 3D shop detail models
Excellent knowledge of Australian standards, fabrication and construction principles and methods
Diploma of engineering or drafting
High level of computer literacy
A positive, can-do attitude and initiative
Self-motivated fast learner
Excellent problem-solving skills
Efficient time management skills
Ability to perform independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to work efficiently as part of a diverse international team as well as independently
Results-driven with the drive to go above and beyond to achieve a successful result.

Established in 2001, Mechwest is the largest Australian owned steel detailer and a proven performer in mechanical and structural 3D and 2D drafting, with a trusted reputation in the mining, oil and gas and commercial/industrial industries. Our team, work across 3 locations in Perth, Brisbane and Manila on a wide range of local and international projects.
