The Role We are looking for a BA/DA — Social Commerce to become Intrepid's dedicated social commerce analytics subject-matter expert across the region, based in the Philippines, while acting as the go-to social commerce domain resource for country teams across all six SEA markets we operate in. This is a hybrid role by design. You will own social commerce analytics requirements end-to-end — discovering what country livestream, affiliate, and content teams actually need, translating it into a solvable data problem, and then doing the hands-on SQL, dashboard, and reconciliation work yourself, working hand-in-hand with our central Data Engineering and BI team (based in Vietnam and Indonesia) in a hub-and-spoke model. You are not a traditional, non-technical BA who hands off requirements and waits — nor a pure data analyst who builds what's asked without questioning it. You are the person who connects livestream performance, affiliate and creator economics, and content-to-conversion outcomes into one picture, and who is experienced enough to surface signals nobody has thought to ask about yet. The world is moving past the era of the static dashboard. Stakeholders no longer just want a chart to interpret — they want AI-native, proactive insight: analytics that surfaces what matters before anyone has to go looking for it, flags anomalies and drivers automatically, and arrives with a narrative and a recommendation attached, not just a number. In social commerce, that matters even more — a livestream session or a piece of content can succeed or fail in real time, and a report delivered the next morning is often a report delivered too late. We want this role to help lead that shift inside Intrepid's social commerce domain, not simply maintain the reporting model it's replacing. You will work directly with data flowing through Intrepid's socom platform, our internal system of record for livestream, affiliate, and content performance, as well as social commerce data crawled or pulled via official API from TikTok Shop, Shopee Live, and Lazada Live, and third-party market intelligence and digital shelf data. Data accuracy has been a real, active challenge for our dashboards; this role is central to closing that gap for the social commerce domain specifically — and to reimagining what social commerce reporting looks like once it isn't just a dashboard anymore. - Discovery & Requirements
- Lead requirement-gathering conversations and workshops with livestream, affiliate, and content stakeholders, and support country social commerce leads across all six SEA markets
- Map how social commerce data flows across the socom platform and creator/affiliate/content sources, to identify what a country team actually needs versus what they're asking for
- Translate open-ended questions (e.g. "why did last night's livestream underperform versus last week's") into concrete, structured data requirements
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of social commerce analytics requests, working the hub-and-spoke model with the central Data Engineering / BI team in Vietnam and Indonesia
- Own end-to-end social commerce analytics: livestream session performance, affiliate/creator ROI and commission economics, and content-to-conversion funnel analysis
- Write your own SQL and build/validate your own dashboards rather than fully depending on the central BI team — pairing with a Vietnam- or Indonesia-based analyst for heavier pipeline or engineering work
- Validate and reconcile socom platform numbers, escalating recurring data quality issues to the central Data Governance & Quality function
- Interpret third-party market intelligence and digital shelf vendor data for competitive livestream and creator context, understanding the strengths and known limitations of each data source
- Present livestream, affiliate, and content performance insights directly to country social commerce leads and regional leadership — not just a finished dashboard, but a point of view on what to do next
- Proactively surface non-obvious patterns across markets, creators, and content formats, rather than only answering questions as they're asked
- Act as the social commerce domain's voice within Data & Analytics, feeding requirements into the central data engineering roadmap — including Intrepid's ongoing move from crawled Seller Centre data to official platform APIs for social commerce metrics
- Maintain social commerce-specific metric definitions (e.g. livestream GMV, viewer engagement, creator commission), feeding into Intrepid's broader BI Business Glossary and semantic layer
- Document social commerce metric methodology to ensure consistency of definitions across all six markets
- Contribute to social commerce data quality monitoring, flagging recurring issues as candidates for automation
- Use AI tools such as Claude to move social commerce reporting from reactive, next-morning dashboard-pulls toward proactive, near-real-time insight — automated commentary, anomaly detection on live sessions, and "so what" summaries generated alongside the numbers
- Prototype and pilot AI-assisted analytics workflows — real-time livestream anomaly alerts, automated creator/affiliate performance summaries, natural-language querying over social commerce data — in partnership with the central Data Engineering team
- Continuously evaluate where GenAI can replace manual, repetitive reporting effort within the social commerce domain, and hand off validated use cases into Intrepid's broader AI transformation and automation roadmap
- Hands-on SQL and dashboarding experience (e.g. Apache Superset, Looker, Power BI, or similar), with the ability to validate and reconcile data from multiple sources yourself
- Working knowledge of social/live commerce data structures — livestream session metrics, affiliate/creator commission models, and content-to-conversion funnels
- Experience with or exposure to live commerce and social platform data (TikTok Shop, Shopee Live, Lazada Live) is a strong plus
- Comfort working with third-party vendor datasets (market intelligence, digital shelf) and reconciling discrepancies between sources
- Genuine, hands-on experience using Claude or other GenAI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini) for real analytical work — generating and debugging SQL, summarizing large or messy datasets, drafting stakeholder-ready insight narratives — not just casual or occasional use
- Comfort experimenting with AI agents or no/low-code workflow automation tools (e.g. n8n) to prototype proactive, always-on insight generation rather than one-off, on-request dashboard pulls
- Working prompt-engineering literacy — able to get reliable, decision-useful analytical output from an AI tool, and to know when to trust it and when to verify it
- Deep understanding of live commerce mechanics: livestream selling, affiliate/creator economics, and content-driven conversion
- Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight across multiple country social commerce teams
- Ability to connect content and creator investment to commerce outcomes into a single, coherent narrative for leadership
- Excellent communication skills, able to bridge business/social commerce and technical/data audiences
- 4-6 years of combined experience across social/live commerce analytics, business analysis, or data analysis roles
- Prior experience in live commerce, TikTok Shop, or the creator economy in Southeast Asia
- Experience covering multiple markets or countries remotely from a regional hub
- Exposure to affiliate/creator management platforms or livestream analytics tools
- Prior experience building or piloting an AI-assisted or automated reporting/insight workflow, even informally, is a strong plus
- Shape social commerce analytics for a leading e-commerce enabler operating across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam
- Be the first dedicated social commerce SME in this role, shaping how the function operates region-wide from the ground up
- Help lead Intrepid's shift from static, next-day dashboards to AI-native, proactive social commerce insight — you'll be defining what that looks like, not inheriting someone else's legacy reporting model
- Work directly with real livestream, affiliate, and content data flowing through Intrepid's own socom platform — not theoretical frameworks
